  1.                   SOME TIPS ON GETTING STARTED WITH WORDMASTER

  4.        Hard Drive Installation

  6.        Create a directory on your hard disk to hold the WordMaster files,
  7.        e.g., C:\WM.  Use the command MD WM.  Put the WordMaster disk in
  8.        drive A and switch to that drive.  Copy the files with the command
  9.        COPY *.* C:\WM.
  10.  
  11.        To be able to load WordMaster from anywhere on your hard disk be
  12.        sure to include the WordMaster directory in your PATH in your
  13.        AUTOEXEC.BAT.  And remember to set the Home Directory so WordMaster
  14.        can find its own files from any other directory.  Do this with the
  15.        command <Ctrl-S><Ctrl-S> or <F1, O, P, H>.  And make it permanent
  16.        with the command <Ctrl-S><Ctrl-D> or <F1, O, S>.

  18.        FLOPPY DRIVE USE
  19.  
  20.        Most computers without a hard drive have two floppy disk drives.
  21.        You will probably want to use the program disk in drive A and keep
  22.        data files in drive B.  To do this, set the Home Directory as
  23.        described above under Hard Disk Installation, but set it for A.
  24.        Then use <Shift-F1> to change to the B drive.  (You may also have to
  25.        enter B the first time you open a file.)

  27.        If you put a PATH statement like PATH=a:\;b:\; in an AUTOEXEC.BAT on
  28.        your boot disk you should be able to put the WordMaster disk in
  29.        drive A, the data disk in drive B and load WordMaster from drive B
  30.        without all the above instructions.

  32.        LOADING THE PROGRAM

  34.        To load WordMaster type WM and <Enter>.
  35.  
  36.        To read the WordMaster documentation file, type WM WM.DOC and
  37.        <Enter>.

  39.        PRINTING THE DOCUMENTATION

  41.        To print out the documentation file (which is designed to be printed
  42.        using WordMaster) load the file as above and use <Shift-F7> to bring
  43.        up the print menu.

  45.        BE SURE to load the right Printer Definition File (the .PDF files on
  46.        the disk) by using the Which Printer option or the fonts will not
  47.        print properly. The selection can be seen prior to calling up the
  48.        print menu by using the directory command, <Ctrl-F10> or <F1, M, D>.
  49.        Most printers can use the EPSMX80 file, but if an appropriate file
  50.        does not exist for your printer then one can be created using the
  51.        Edit Printer Codes option on the print menu.  Finally, select Print
  52.        File Now to print out the documentation.
